My name is Darin Gilman, proud heir to a legacy of Alaskan fishermen. For the past 15 seasons, I have forged my own path as the captain of my vessel in the awe-inspiring expanse of the Copper River Delta. This untamed wilderness has become my playground and workplace, and I am honored to provide clean and fresh fish to people across Alaska and the United States.
Born and raised in Alaska, I craved a life in harmony with nature, a life where I could harness the sea's bounty and share it with others.
With each passing season, I grew more familiar with the rhythmic ebb and flow of the Copper River Delta's tides. The stunning beauty of snow-capped mountains reflecting in crystal clear waters became my daily inspiration.
Operating my first vessel, aptly named No Idea, has been both a challenge and a triumph. I navigate treacherous waters and brave unpredictable storms, never forgetting the generations before us who paved this way of life.
In the proud tradition of my family, we have not only built a sustainable fishing operation. All fish that are caught by us are certified by the Marine Stewardship Council they have recognized us for consistently adhering to sustainable fishing practices, ensuring that future generations can enjoy the same abundance of marine life we experience today.
The connection we forge with our customers brings immense joy. Every shipment we send out, packed meticulously with the day's catch, contains a piece of Alaska's pristine waters. Knowing that we are nourishing families across the nation with clean and fresh seafood fills us with immense pride and a sense of purpose.
